BLUE OCTOBER MAN NEEDS MORE REST
Blue October had resumed their tour this weekend after postponing some dates due to singer Justin Furstenfeld?s leg injury, but it appears that they hit the road prematurely. They were forced to cancel a show last night in Lafayette, Louisiana in order to give Furstenfeld more time to recover from the injury he sustained last month. The band?s management posted an apology on Blue October?s Web site saying that they?d resume the tour this Friday in Memphis, Tennessee. They also plan on rescheduling the Lafayette show for late October. Blue October will be Dr. Drew's guests on Loveline next Monday night at 10 on 95X.
KORN SINGER RECOVERING
Korn singer Jonathan Davis told Billboard.com yesterday (Tuesday, June 20th) that he's recovering from his recent blood infection but is anxious to get back on the road. Davis said, "I feel good but I feel like I want to jump out of my skin." The singer is currently resting at home in Los Angeles and will remain there until the band begins its headlining stint on the Family Values tour in late July. Davis was hospitalized earlier this month in London when a blood disorder sent his platelet count plummeting to dangerously low levels that could have been fatal. Korn was forced to scrap its European tour while Davis underwent treatment.
The vocalist said that he has responded very well to treatment for the rare disease, called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). Davis explained, "Kids get and it goes away, but adults get it and it doesn't. But the way I'm responding, going from five platelets to 350 in seven days -- people sit in the hospital for months and months trying to do that."

MODEST MOUSE WORK TO FINISH RECORD
The most successful album of Modest Mouse?s long career, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, came out over two years ago, so what is the Seattle band doing now? Well, they?ve just postponed a four-date tour in August so that they can work on their new album, according to their Web Site. The band is recording in Mississippi with Dennis Herring, who also produced Good News, and scrapped the dates in order to keep up with the ?feverish pace? in which they are finishing their new record.
ROB ZOMBIE SET TO REMAKE HALLOWEEN
Rob Zombie recently announced that he will direct a new version of the classic 1978 horror film, Halloween, but except for saying that it wouldn't be a sequel, he left the details a little vague. Would the movie then be a prequel or a straight remake? Zombie told LAUNCH that his Halloween will be a little bit of both. "I basically went back and just came up with the idea of basically -- not essentially a remake, but a very extended prequel sort of combined with an update, say, of the first film. You're starting from scratch but in sort of a more detailed way. That's the way I thought it would be exciting for fans of the original, because it's not just the same old thing, and it would be exciting for people that never saw the original."
