Well, Frusciante is returning the favor, as Omar Rodriguez appears on a track on the Peppers new hit album, Stadium Arcadium. Stadium Arcadium comes in at number seven on this week?s Billboard chart.
SLASH PREPS NEW CD, SLASHES GN?R REUNION RUMORS
Fans of Guns N? Roses who thought there might be a chance that former guitarist Saul ?Slash? Hudson might return for a reunion will be disappointed to learn that is not going to happen. Slash told MTV News, ?I don?t know where [the rumors come] from, but I haven?t dealt with Guns N? Roses any more than I have in the last ten years. So, it?s not really a thing with me. I have, in the foreseeable future, no re-involvement with that band whatsoever.? Instead, the guitarist is fully involved in the upcoming second album from his multi-platinum new band, Velvet Revolver. Of the new record, Slash said, ?We?re in pre-production and it sounds amazing. I?m just really excited ?cause hopefully we?ll get this thing out before the year?s over. I don?t want to say [anything specific about] the songs, but the name for the album is Libertad, which is Spanish for liberty. It?s something that we feel strongly about: liberty, freedom, you know.? Meanwhile, music Slash wrote can be heard on the soundtrack to The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which is in theaters now.

EVANESCENCE TO PLACE 'CALL' IN AUGUST
Evanescence has officially picked "Call Me When You're Sober" as the first single from its upcoming new album, The Open Door. The song will arrive at radio stations around August 7th, while the new CD hits the streets on October 3rd. The band's second major label offering, The Open Door will follow up 2003's six-million-selling Fallen. When asked to describe the sound of the new disc, singer Amy Lee told LAUNCH it was hard to explain. ["It's different than the last album, but it's still Evanescence. I think the fans are really gonna love it. I'm a fan, I love this band, I wouldn't be doing it if I wouldn't love it, and I love it, so I guess that's sort of my gauge for everything. But it's different, it's kind of fun and sexy, but it's still, like, dark and, like, really epic at times."
DISTURBED: 'LAND OF CONFUSION' TIMELY AS EVER
The video for Disturbed's cover of the Genesis hit "Land Of Confusion" is in the final stages of production, with renowned comic artist Todd McFarlane directing. The memorable Genesis clip used eerie puppets to poke fun at figures such as Ronald Reagan, and Disturbed singer David Draiman told LAUNCH that the song's political content made a new version timely. "I think that that was part of the impetus of recording it. Danny (Donegan, guitarist) actually came up with the idea of trying it. I wasn't really all for it in the beginning. I'm not a huge Phil Collins fan. But I couldn't deny that the lyrical content of the song made sense and definitely fit the type of lyrical directions that I go in."
