FORMER MEGADETH MEMBER AT DOS TONIGHT!
Tonight (Thursday, June 22), 95X presents F5, featuring former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson. I got to talk with David yesterday afternoon and I can tell you he is pumped up about doing the show, his new band and creating new metal music. This is the first night on the second leg of F5's tour, so the band's rested up and ready to go. F5's CD, A Drug For All Seasons, came out last September and features some great performances from vocalist, Dale Steele. Tonight's show starts at 7 and opens with our friends Order 66. Tickets are $10 and you can buy them at the door. This is a great chance to see a legend right here in West Texas.
BILLIE JOE TO ?ROCK? ELVIS COSTELLO
Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day is among those who will help salute the music of Elvis Costello on the next edition of Vh1 Classic?s Decades Rock Live. Elvis himself will duet with the Green Day singer on an acoustic version of Costello?s song, ?Allison,? while artists such as Fiona Apple and Death Cab For Cutie will perform his songs ?Peace, Love and Understanding? and ?Accidents Will Happen.? Decades Rock Live: Elvis Costello will premiere on Vh1 Classic Friday, July 21st at 7 PM.
THREE DAYS GRACE GO TOP 5 WITH ONE X
Three Days Grace's sophomore album, One X, debuted at a career-best Number Five on the Billboard Top 200 album chart yesterday (Wednesday, June 21st), selling 78,000 copies in its first week of release. While aware of the pressure to follow up its platinum debut disc, bassist Brad Walst told LAUNCH that Three Days Grace never let that interfere with making the record. "You know, we kind of just forgot about all pressures. Of course it's there and you know it's there, but we really took our time and we didn't let anybody tell us different, you know, because I think we all wanted to write a good record and we didn't want any outside pressures involving our creative process."
QUICK HITS
If you listen to The Sunday Night Resurrection with Kevin Porter, you'll want to check out this awesome link to hundreds (thousands?) of '80s music videos.
Speaking of Kevin, 15 years ago, he was the person wh got me hooked on Twin Peaks. If you're a fan as well, you'll be celebrating! The second season of Twin Peaks on DVD is tentatively set for a November release. Mmm....Sherylin Fenn!

Audrey looks on as Agent Cooper enjoys a "damn good" cup of coffee.
ITunes is offering a two-and-a-half minute scene from Superman Returns as a free download.
Spawn creator Todd McFarlane is directing the new Disturbed video, which covers Genesis' Land of Confusion. Behind-the-scenes clips and commentary are on the band's site.
The Late Show with David Letterman's site has posted an exclusive performance by Wolfmother.
Don't expect another studio album from The Pixies.
