PAM ANDERSON AND KID ROCK TO TIE THE KNOT

On again, off again couple Pam Anderson and Kid Rock are set to tie the knot in St. Tropez next week. According to US Weekly, the two, who got engaged back in 2002, will wed on a boat on July 29th.

FRANZ, SNOW PATROL SING FOR KIDS

Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand won?t be releasing a new album anytime soon since they?ve decided to take things slow with the follow-up to 2005?s You Could Have it so Much Better. Nevertheless, they will be appearing on a children?s album. According to NME, Franz, as well as Snow Patrol, Flaming Lips, The Kooks and more will all sing for The Colours are Brighter, an album of children?s songs put together by Scottish legends Belle & Sebastian. Proceeds from the CD will go to Save the Children. The album is expected to be released this fall.

CHILI PEPPER MOM RAISES MONEY FOR CANCER SOCIETY

Anthony Kiedis? mom, Peggy, is auctioning off a guitar signed by the band for the American Cancer Society. In a post on RedHotChiliPeppers.com, she announced that the signed instrument went up for auction on eBay yesterday. Peggy also announced that she would be involved in Relay for Life, an event on August 4th to raise money for the Cancer Society that would involve her walking on a track for 24 hours. Anthony?s mom said that she would not be able to walk the full 24 hours though, as she has to go see the Chili Peppers play Lollapalooza in Chicago that night.

BLUE OCTOBER LIKES?
Is it possible to have too many musical influences? Maybe ? here?s Blue October drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld on his group?s endless list of fave acts. ?Michael Jackson, country music, all kinds of stuff, everything, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead. It?s just kind of a big, giant melting pot I think of everything we ever listened to. You know, you can pull from everything, anybody that you listened to musically, you can always learn from them so we just kind of, it just kind of appears.? Blue October?s latest album ? Foiled? ? has reached its highest rank to date on this week?s Billboard chart ? number 29. The band will be playing Clifton Park, New York, this Friday night.

PANIC! ALREADY THINKING ABOUT NEXT ALBUM

Panic! At the Disco is busy touring to promote its gold-certified debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, but the Las Vegas quartet already has its eye on the future. Guitarist and chief songwriter Ryan Ross told LAUNCH that the band members are already coming up with ideas for their second album and scoping out time to start working on it in earnest: "I'm excited to start writing. We're gonna take some months off after, like, about a month of dates in November, and then we're gonna write over the winter and record and probably have a record out probably this time next year." The latest single from A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is "But It's Better When We Do."

VELVET REVOLVER, OTHERS ON NEW CHARITY ALBUM

Velvet Revolver and the Strokes are two of the acts contributing songs to Serve, an all-star charity album to benefit a non-profit organization called World Hunger Year (WHY). According to Blabbermouth.net, other artists appearing on the disc include Modest Mouse, Coheed and Cambria, Aerosmith, Good Charlotte, Lenny Kravitz, Bruce Springsteen and Dido. The tracks are a mix of live, studio, acoustic and electric performances, with many of them rare or previously unreleased.
