AUSTIN (AP) — Texas breeding cattle will be able to cross into Mexico for the first time in more than four years Friday.
An agreement between the U.S. and Mexico restores a market worth more than $80 million to cattlemen in Texas, the nation’s largest producer of cattle.
LUBBOCK (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested more than a dozen people suspected of operating a major cocaine-trafficking organization in the Lubbock area.
Those accused were named in five indictments unsealed here Thursday. All but one has been arrested.

AMARILLO (AP) — A man charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession needed to use the drug to treat symptoms of his HIV infection, a jury has found.
Jurors deliberated less than 15 minutes Tuesday before reaching a not guilty verdict for Tim Stevens, 53, whose attorney used the defense that marijuana use was a necessity to treat nausea and vomiting.
HOUSTON (AP) — Hospital officials say Tejano music star Emilio Navaira, who was severely injured after his tour bus crashed, is slowly regaining consciousness.
Navaira opened his eyes and moved his arms and legs Wednesday evening, according to a statement from Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
He remains in critical condition at the hospital.
