I am hoping against hope that this will turn out to be some kind of prank or misunderstanding.
To think of the Packers without Brett is nothing short of gut-wrenching. He is the heart of that team, that whole city. He plays the game with more passion than any other player I can name. He is a player who could have gone elsewhere several times, but stuck to his team. Loyalty is word he is very familiar with, and so few players have that these days.
Even when the team is down and not doing well, Brett still inspires confidence... you know he will come back, and it will be better than ever.
I'm just a silly girl from West Texas, who found a team I could believe in with Brett's Packers. I have been a fan for going on 15 years. I have received grief you wouldn't believe for having Greenbay Packer checks, in Midland Texas.
But Brett and his Packers were worth it.A team with heart and a real connection to its fans. A team, and a quarterback who semed to buck the "I'm only here for the money" mania that seemed to sweep the rest of football.
So, I say again... Please don't leave us Brett... the Pack still needs you, but more importantly we still need you. We your fans, we the people of America who still want to find something good and worthy in our favorite sport... We still need you.
