Selling Brunhilda

I have reached a very hard decision. I am putting Brunhilda up for sale.

For those who don't know, Brunhilda is a 1967 Datsun 1600 convertible, Silver, with original interior. She was my grandmother's car for ages, and has been mine for a few years.

Why Brunhilda? Well, when I was about 7 that was the most exotic and amazing name I could think of of. The images fierce valkyeries really seemed to fit in my young mind!

My grandfather took care of her and kept her for me. A couple of times my dad and grandmother tried to talk him into selling her, but he would say no, Charlotte wants her. When he passed on, I sat in that car and cried my eyes out.

Papa took great care of her. And I love this car. When Graham and I moved back she was my only mode of transportation for about 8 months. Unfortunately I do not have the skill or the time to take care of her. She needs, nay deserves, to be well taken care of.

She has been in one accident, in about 1990. A silly teenage girl (not me)somehow managed to run her car into my grandparents garage. My grandfather and dad did some minor body repair work, and she is just as beautiful as ever.

It breaks my heart to have come to this decision, but she deserves better than to be sitting in my garage not being enjoyed.

She has a tendency to overheat a little on hot days. And needs a new battery cause she hasn't been driven in over 2 years. But she is a great little car, and I know that somewhere out there is someone who can take care of her and love her.
