Distinguished Daises In A Field Of Clover

Bob Lester's picture

Saw them the other day, just driving down a country road. God places some beautiful scenery on these old plains in which we dwell. There was this huge field way out in the middle of no where and it was covered in clover.
Now some folks might not like clover in their yards, but in their proper abode, clover is beautiful. And after all, not a red blooded male has not forsaken the application of his sweetheart and clover leaves.
Now out there stading so proud and tall over the clover were two very distinguished daises. They knew they were taller, brighter, and were the first to be seen by eyes from afar.
One was telling the other "Ms. D you know we are special in this here field of clover?" "How's that Mr. D?" was her reply. "Because we stand out above all the rest, we are more attractive than our lower lying counterparts.". "Mr. D, I am ashamed of you and your attitude this bright sunny day." "Don't you know if not for the little clover covering our support systems, we wold wither and die quicker." "The clover keeps our roots moist and secure when it is dry and the winds blow". "You should always be thankful for the ones keeping your head above the rest."
Mr. Daisy learned a lesson that day, and as I pictured that little story in my mind, I knew there was a lesson in it for all of us. Let us never look down on anyone less fortinate than us, let us always appreciate the work, love, attention, sacrafice, and self denial that others give in order for our lives to be better. Whether we are Daises or Clover doesn't matter, it is how we react to what we are blessed with. Believe it, receive it. Bob Lester
